4-23-11, Potomac River report

At least Capt. Mike caught a few dinks....Brendan and I were skunked.

But read on if you desire!

We took a chance on the weather since Brendan only get a few hours reprieve once in a while. He has 4 daughters....under 11!     yikes

We put in a Pohick around 8 AM as the tide was starting to come up (helped by a SW wind). It was ominous but we moved in to the flats to see if any one was home. Nope....so we went sightseeing!

Mt. Vernon.....

Then we called Dan for a hint.....

The tide was screaming in, pushed by the wind. We did find some calm water....

A relaxed man!

We took out at high tide (noonish) due to family commitments.

The river was choppy but I am glad we went....I learned a few new things and will continue to explore this area.

Time to go fishin' again!
