Ashburn lakes parking, access, and put-ins?

Hi all, I'm new here.  I've heard good things about Ashburn lakes and Google led me here.  I've got a few questions that I hope you all can answer:
* what is lake access like?  Is is strictly for Ashburn residents?  Is is enforced?
* where can one park to gain access?  From what I've read it sounds like Pavillion and Cedar are the waters of choice, but I've read that there are 5 lakes and some ponds as well.
* Can you drop a kayak in?

I live up in Leesburg and have spent a lot of time on the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers and Goose Creek catching nice smallies, and have fished some of the ponds and lakes near Leesburg, plus Beaverdam reservoir, but it's always nice to hit some new waters.

Any info is appreciated, and if anyone has questions about fishing near Leesburg or smallmouth baits/tactics, etc. drop me a line.

Thanks,
JD

PS: sorry if wrong forum

No worries JD, I moved you to the "right" forum.  Welcome!

There are ponds in Ashburn Farms and in Ashburn Village. Typically they are for residents of those places unless you are a guest.  Some folks get upset when non residents fish the ponds....they think those people trash up the place. We know differently. There are lots of other ponds with access.....it might be best to send a few emails.

Time to go fishin' again!

Thanks all.  I'll probably discretely check it out once the weather warms up; I've had no luck with the winter fishing -- I checked out Olde Izaak Walton pond here in Leesburg and caught nothing but a chill.

I caught a few small bass there during last summer

Re: Ashburn lakes parking, access, and put-ins?

how old r u JD?
i caught 12 to 16 ( i can never count ) LMB today on a crankbait, and then on micro-jigs.
i have never done much in isaac walton- i think andy told me he caught some decent fish in there

i had fish boiling on that crankbait pretty good.
they were chasing, as well as strong pullers.
most were about 1#

I'm 40.

Nothing wrong with 1# fish, sure beats nothing.  Walton does have some decent fish, but I get the feeling there are only a few and that I've caught them all already.

Sounds like you had a good day; I'll have to get back out and try again.
