i was wrong
when the wind finally stopped last night, the river froze quickly.
water had a bit more stain in it today
i could see my jig down at least 2'
been crystal clear prior
there are good numbers of small bass (8 to 14")
best reported catches are a few b/t 3 and four pounds
perch are coming in. most are runt males
seen a handful of 8 to 10" females.
havnt fished the deeper water toward I95
keeper crappie are in the area
there are roving schools as well as the regulars pinned on cover
figure them out for the day and you load up
citation class crappie can also be had
a day of diligent work may turn up 1 or more
best baits for me are 1/32 jigs, rigged twister or tube
light tackle makes for good fun
some diehards prefer a 2" Fin S (Herb Reed) on a long shank
1/16 or 1/32 jig head
the silver buddy brigade also does regular business on bass & Perch
i dont throw them, but i see them work
