We left my friends house at 3 am since low tide was at 2am. Couldnt sleep so we all ended up pulling all nighters! This time we fished the incoming tide and crushed em. We started fishing at 3 45 and stopped fishing at like 6 15. I caught 40+ which led to 100+ fish day for all three of us combined!!!! I had the biggest of the day at 28". Every cast you were either bit or hooked onto a fish pretty much! After filleting the fish and loading up we headed back in time for class. Can't wait to go to sleep!
My striper thumb is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!

How long does this feeding frenzy by exiting stripers last? Is it just a night time thing or day as well? How rough is the water? I don't think I have driven across that bridge and not seen anything less than 6' waves out there and whitecaps.

Apparently it lasts from about a week and a half ago until late november, early December. Then it picks up again in the spring also I was told. You can only fish it really at night because you are fishing the line between the light from the bridge and the shadow, and the Stripers just line up to eat all the baitfish that come up to the light. You sit in the dark and cast into the light working it back to the line. The water was really calm Wednesday morning. Monday night it was pretty rough but the kayaks handled it fine and I didnt feel unsafe at all. You just have to check the wind. Monday night was 14 knots. I dont think I would go out in too much more than that.
