a friend of a friend caught this beast today or yesterday in a tributary of the Potomac.
From what I've heard it should be a new world record. Pretty impressive considering they are native to Asia and have only been here for about a decade.

Of course, he has a typical bass picture hold so it's hard to tell how big he really is. Any idea on the numbers?
Impressive!

I wouldn't want to hold that thing close to me either! It was probably VERY strong, it's got teeth, and it is a slime machine!
No numbers as of yet. Even with the positioning, that thing is WAY bigger than any I've seen or heard of.

that fish is a beast!
animal planet's river monsters episode stated one species can grow up to 4' and 40lbs and that species is in the U.S.

Chris- Did ya eat it?

No I don't eat any fish. I did give it to a friend though who was very thankful for it.
Many of my friends eat them and describe them as actually being a super tender white meat. They say walleye is great until you've had one of these.

I have not had one yet but that is what I hear.
An 11 pounder is one of the bigger fish caught and recorded!

I've got a few friends that are tracking some in the 15+ pound range right now.
According to some of the scientists studying them on the potomac, they expect them to reach 25+.
