How do I get the spool off my baitcaster?

It's a Shakespeare Sigma.  I've removed everything that looks like it could hold it together but I still can't separate it.

It looks from the scematic that it removes from the side oppsite the handle and it also looks like it has a c clip holding it in under the spool tension knob on the right side.

I can't even get the side covers off to get to the internal parts.

T- bring it by and I will drop it off at R&R Repair. Phil will fix it right and he is very reasonable.

There's nothing wrong with it now.  I had a bird's nest at the time and wanted to avoid cutting line.
