No, not Rodriguez......
5-6 years ago, at a Fishing Show, I bought my 1st two GLoomis rods, highly discounted from a fella that was going out of business. One of these rods is the 5'6" UL that is my white perch go to rod. I paid $85 for it and retail was around $175. It took me a bit to learn how to load and throw this rod considering that I am usually tossing 1/16 and 1/8 jigs/spinners.
Two years ago, while fishing with Bob and Curly, I dropped the rod in the drink. Luckily, I was able to jig it up and save it.
This year, the rod's cork became loose but I continued to fish it for a while. But it did not feel good so I sent it back to Loomis along with a $20 check. All I wanted them to do was repair it.
Today, I received a tube with a brand new rod in it. Retail is $200. Wow is all I can say. Incredible service!!

Impressive. It's good to know some companies stand behind their product. If I can ever afford one I'll definitely consider it.

That is awesome! Kinda make me want to send in my one Loomis, even though it's not broken ![]()
In a similar story, I once sent a badly damaged reel in to Shimano to see if they could repair it. I had bought it used off ebay a year or two earlier and had no receipt or box or anything. A couple weeks later I received a brand new, updated model at no cost. It was worth a lot less than $200, but certainly a lot more than $0!
