I've fished that exact area for bass a handful of times. In the summer the perch that are still around will hit a spinnerbait or crankbait.
That is a really nice catch.

When your catching fish for dinner it is one thing, but when just out fishing, I have always felt funny put 2oz of lead on a line to catch a 16 oz fish.
