evening with the wakebait

Went after some big bites in Cedar this evening. I took 4 rods but only fished one of them. I hate when I do that...

Anyway, I managed this one:

and another one that was barely bigger than the bait.

It's not just the giant fish that bite these baits.

17lb mono. (Preferably something thick like Trilene XT) Bigger wakebaits need heavier than 17lb, this is only a 7" version. They get up to 15".  Braid is a no-no. Also, a rod that is rated to throw baits close to 2oz is mandatory.

i have the 20 but its lime green, not well for anything but topwater cause its hi vis
