I got out early for some shore fishing again.  On the water by 5:23am.



I started with a tiny torpedo.  Water was almost 78 degrees to start.



On the first cast, I stayed back a bit and tossed the torpedo out behind a large branch in the water to avoid having to fight the fish around it.  I swam it a little and then gave a couple twitches.  Then I started reeling it in and a smallie smashed it in 6 inches of water.  It went airborne when it hit.  I brought the fish in.  It was super hot (not tired), and I could not get it to stay still on the bunk board, so I released it.  It was at least 17.5 inches.  I missed a bite in a z-man trick shotz (like flatworm) when the fish destroyed it and got it all balled up on the hook.  Then I tossed out a flatworm rigged on another rod and it got destroyed with another missed fish.  Then I tossed out the torpedo again and caught a decent smallie.  It refused to be in a picture as well.

A couple casts later with the trick shotz fixed, I landed my biggest one.



That was 5:49am.  I decided I would not force pictures if I was unable to get the fish settled down or if it was smaller.

I landed at least 5 more fish on the trick shotz.  The fish were corralling baitfish up to the shallow water.  I caught some more and was able to get a couple more pics.







This one was on the torpedo at 6:06am.



I really struggled with getting pictures.  I bought a new case for my phone and the button is hard to push.  Then I had to hold the fish with my left hand to get any picture.  One-handed pics are not easy now due to arthritis in my right thumb.  I will get that fixed in the late Fall.  Anyway, I lost track of how many fish I caught.  It was at least 12, with 3 over 17.5" and some other hefty ones.

The bite slowed and I tried throwing a baby Storm sub-wart.  That got a couple follows, but no hook-ups.  I tried my little popper for a few casts, and nada.  I called it by 7am.
