I got out again and it was barely light. First cast with the little popper and let it float. Heard the splash and fish on! Not a big one, but cool way to start.
After that I made a couple casts. One missed it and I was just inching it back. I let it sit and something slurped it down. I pulled back and it felt like a big fish. Then it either let go or pulled off. I never moved the fish.
A cast or two later I had a take. Just slurped it again. Nicer fish, but not what got off. I pulled it over the shore, and it got off the hook. A little messy, but I got a picture.
It sprinkled a little but not enough to get wet. Clouds kept me casting for a while longer. Canadian Geese were swimming Monday, today it was Mallards on the move. Saw an Eagle and a King Fisher. Nice Fall morning.

Very cool! nice job getting on the fish. Always appreciate the reports when I'm at work!

Nice job! You have to at least give topwater another shot on Saturday so you can say you got one in November.

Will see. We have plans Saturday and going back to standard time messes up the timing because that park opens at 7am. With the forecasted rain, I should be able to get the boat on the river early next week. It has been at least a month since I could do that.

Love the fact that you're catching them on top water this late.!!
