It's been a fantastic season in the bay. I'm kinda sad to feel the air cooling down, not ready for Summer to be over yet. I've made 6 more trips since my last post and I've still been getting quality specks and reds on every trip. Ended up with 9 citation size trout this Summer. I'm releasing all the trout and most of the reds, but I've been keeping some crabs and shrimp.
Finished putting in the flooring in my boat, glad that's over. Only a couple more mods and it will be exactly the way I want.
Overslot red from my last trip

Topwater
Slot red
Gator took a one knocker spook.

Gold spoon
Big one on a super fluke under a cork
Overslot red
Biggest trout of the summer @29.25"

Got 7+lbs of these in the cast net

I love the Chesapeake.

Those shrimp look tasty!

Man, you did have a great Summer! Those are some incredible fish and shrimp. Was the wet part of early Summer a slower time and dryer part better?
You have dialed in a routine and handmade lures to slay them. Amazing! And the boat looks great.

Thank you.
Earlier summer was better, it always is. In late July/early August a lot of the grass starts dying off and the fish scatter. I will say that although numbers have been down recently I'm getting some real quality fish. September is consistently inconsistent. I expect a couple of bad trips and a couple of good ones this month, but probably nothing great. I'll be doing a lot of crabbing and shrimping until October when the fishing action starts getting faster again.
