My wife left for Ohio on Wednesday and as part of my stay-cation this week, I've been tackling some things that needed done around the house. Cleaning base boards earlier in week and then Friday was painting decorative trim around front door and replacing wheels and hardware on our kitchen pantry barn doors so they would actually roll and the doors close.
So today was about 4 hours on the river after taking a couple of.dogs to the dog park with the weather so nice. Also hoping for some top water action on the Choppo, but that was non-existent today. Also nothing on the crank bait still, both minnow and craw color. Spinner bait also got no love.
What did save the day and gave me 8 am allies was the Z man finesse swim bait in the mood ring color. It's small enough to get a few when the bite is tough. Had a few others hooked that for iff. Floating back down and almost to the take our, I was making a few cases with the fluke on a shades shoreline. Saw the line moving after a cast, set the hook and it.took off. Got this solid 17.25* smallie in the kayak.
Good.way to.spend another beautiful day outside
