Went out at 6 to beat the heat, but it didn't matter as the carp and gar were still spawning and making the water move and kicking up dust everywhere. I didn't get much topwater love as I only had one bass blow up.
So I turned to this swim bait with a weighted 4/0 hook and I have to admit I loved casting it.
Got this nice bass that self released and saw a lot of these pods/schools of baby fish swimming around and they all seemed to be of a different species (color, shape, movement). I got close enough that I could have scooped them up by hand, but decided not to bother them. No adults swimming in the area either.
So I had one decent bass, 1 topwater blowup, and 1 swimbait loss. For 3 hours on the water I can't complain!

I love that kind of fishing. So cool!
That grass just under the water reminds me of the 1st time I saw an snakehead w/Capt. Mike. I saw the two eyes staring at me. The rest of the body was in the grass. Also, so cool!
