I got out for several firsts today.  First fishing trip post-op, first trip of 2025 and first trip with my newly retired brother-in-law, Jimmy.  He met me at the ramp at 7am and we got out in sub-40-degree weather and water temps.  Jimmy drove. 





The first spot did not pan out.  We made a run and after a slow start, he hooked his first smallie at 16.75".



Bad news is no good fish pix due to various reasons.  I hooked up next with a 15"er.



Then Jimmy caught a 16.5"er



I caught one more and Jimmy caught 3 more up to 18.75" and 2.78 pounds. 





I was playing guide, and he got the program quickly.  After the wind picked up and a few lures in a tree, we decided to move on.  A couple guys in a River Pro moved in behind us.

We hit one more spot with no bites before heading back.  Off the water by 1:30pm.  Weather was nice by that time.  I had told him that I felt there was a 90% chance of catching fish and that if we did, there was a 75% chance of a big fish.  I felt like I did my job and was so happy after asking him to get out with me so many times over the years.
