OBX

The wife and I went to Buxton NC again this year on New Years. Arrived Monday early and went fishing on the point. Caught a bunch of small fish and one big that pulled the hook. Wounder full day in the mid 60's. Next day New Years eve also in the 60's and caught some sea mullet and a pelican. We call him George and he looked to have a broken wing. He was hanging around looking for handouts.

I caught about a 26 inch shark and George bolted down the beach and shoved it in his mouth. Hook and sinker included. I pulled and pulled and when he went to slide it down his throat I got it out of his mouth. Now he wanted that shark some kinda bad and went after it up the beach. I kept slinging the shark back forth and he go after it when it landed. Did this maybe 5 times and started to kick sand in his face. Got the shark unhooked and made sure he swam away. For next hour I kicked sand in his face and chased him away. I was not sure if I caught another fish he would not grab it. COMBAT FISHING.

He flew away like nothing was wrong with his wing.

Next day the wind blew 40 gusts and I fishing south side for 5 minutes and knew it was hopeless. Saw a nice xmas tree.

Found a spot north of point leeward and proceeded to catch some 15 inch sea mullet.

Next two days back to same spot and caught more nice sea mullet.
