Trying out some premium equipment

I wanted to try something on the higher end instead of my usual entry/mid level gear.  Just wanted to know if it made that much of a difference.  So, I just received this in over the weekend.  It took a few months for delivery since the rod is new for the year.   A little late in the season to get it out asap.
Haven't had a chance to try it out, but I look forward to it!  I think depending on how it feels I may use it as my all around rod for almost everything (bass, SH, trout, crappie, WP, shad).

Looks sweet. Nothing like catching the first fish on a new rod.

Sweet.  Give us a report when you try it.

Great reviews for finesse fishing.  I've fished with a Stella before and am wondering how they compare?

Don't be dropping that rod/reel in the water.  That would be a heart break

When I build a rod, I try to keep them as light as possible.  Same with the reels I own.  It's nice fishing with super light rigs.

Outstanding set up!

As well, I like ML as my go to. Nowadays, even a M feels a bit heavy. All my reels are light too.

I have a Sustain 2500 that is silky smooth but I don't use it as much as I should because I am usually using 1000 or 2000 class reels.

My salt gear is a little heavier though. All the way up to MH.

Re: Trying out some premium equipment

Agree with the idea of using a lighter setup.  I'm setting aside the heavier rods and reels and trying for this lightweight setup.  It cost the most I've ever spent on a setup, but I opted for the quality and weight.  My thoughts are that it's an investment in my hobby and now that I'm more seasoned I should make my time on the water or shore the best experience I can.  The neighbors kid loves getting my extra rods and reels!

Good job!

The look on kids face when you give them fishing gear is priceless
