Ever have an epic trip? Last evening I had one. Two retired gents joined me at 3pm on Mattawomen Creek. Trip was a retirement present from a fellow worker. We started out fishing deep in the pads for snakehead and got about 7 hits and no hookups. Learning curve on hookups is a long road. Often 12 hits and you finally remember the steps to get a good hook up. After that the tide was moving good and the Rico came out. From there it was the only lure needed. Landed 38 LGMouth and lost a few too. Big yellow perch and several crappie.
Epic the way these two guys absorbed a style of fishing they have never done before.

Great stuff. I've heard likewise that the tidal Potomac topwater bite in the shallow weedy creeks has been on fire. Those Rico's are magic. My brother was a rep a long time ago and has passed a few old gems on...they always produce!
