ashburn

i was thrilled to catch a 5.8 this evening on my favorite laydown.

beautiful fish w/o a mark on it.\

green/orange bitsy bug w/ a green/ pepper fleck superchunk as a trailer.

i pulled the bitsy w/ the trick worm -no dice
next a senko knockoff-no dice
went to the superchunk and hit mama on the first cast into the same hole.

i caught other nice fish as well.
the strike king senko knockoff catches bass- i am getting more confidence in it. I wish walmart carried more colors

i had a 5 fish limit in the 12# range

all my good fish were tight on wood in 4' or more of water

Re: ashburn

Good fishing big Jeffie! A couple humble suggestions for you my friend, double-spaced as you like it:

1) tacklewarehouse.com-they have just about every lure imaginable in every size and configuration. Each bait has a close-up photo of every

available color so you can see exactly what you're buying. Free shipping on orders over $50.

2) Dude, get a camera phone. They're free these days with just about any plan. Or at least keep a disposable Funsaver in your car or something.

Comes in handy not only for documenting 5lbers, but also when being involved in certain situations that are not easily resolved in a verbal manner.

Like when you're in a fender-bender with non-English speaking peoples, or when you're trying to explain to your girlfriend how to hook up the

cable box. I prefer the cameraphone so I don't fell like I'm jinxing myself when I bring it along everytime.

Re: ashburn

the strike king senko:

the color walmart carries has been my top producer this week- just a funny coincidence
like a purple and black

i hear what you are saying on the camera, mike.
i had one in  my pocket when i caught the fish
i weighed it and watched it swim away

i fish alone 99% of the time
a big fish alone in a picture frame doesnt look like much.

if i ever get money again, i will order from internet suppliers.
i piecemeal tackle from local retailers just because it is what i do.

i have ways that i cling to, for reasons that are not apparent even to myself

thanks for noting the post. it was my best day in some time

Re: ashburn

Jeffie, you have been hitting that lake hard this weekend. I see you every time I drive by. You earned that fish for sure.

I will say that a picture of a big bucket mouth is a lot more impressive than just a number, but it is your report do what you want.

*Of course that's coming from a guy who posted a picture of a cedar shingle to show the size of a small mouth bass wink
