Ashburn Lake Report - 040809

I decided to hit/try Ashburn Lake today for the first time this year. I ran a spinnerbait the entire time and ended up with a couple of nice keeper bass.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

I hope these fish are being eaten by someone after the pictures are taken because they are not likely to survive when their mouth is distended by holding them horizontally. Their jaw is not designed to support their weight.

Good info from Carl and Curly....two old (very experienced) salts!!

I always have to fight the urge to "admire" my catch by holding them sideways. It's a hard habit to break but the more we think about proper handling, the better chance these fish have to survive.

Time to go fishin' again!

It's fine if you're supporting the belly! But yes, great tips.

Let's just say that we have a good number of generations covered between the two of of them!
