4-7-06- White perch save the day!

Curly and I went out early again to hunt down some stripers at the Fletcher's area. The weather was questionable.....temps in the high 40s and low50s with a 50% chance of rain. It rained most of the morning!!

We got the skunk off when Curly caught a 2 pound channel cat. He was not impressed and didn't let me take a picture of it.

So we did a little trolling and immediately hooked up to a less than 20" striper. Curly fought him...and lost him. A while later, while trolling again, a rod bends and the fight is on. Curly fought him and he got off. This was a nice fish, we saw him and he was more than 30". Ouch!

We fished for stripers for several more hours and nothing was happening so I went to the old stand by...white perch.

In 2-3 hours of white perch fishing, we caught over 100 of them and released most of them. We kept enough for a fish fry Saturday. After a rainy, cold morning and slow fishing, the sun came out and we had a ton of action.

We will be back to Fletcher's on the 14th!
