George and I met up at the ramp around 6:15a. John was already on the water!

It was a little, well, a lot foggy. Here is a look down river...



...and a look up river!



We started with top water but only got one sniff (George). We didn't want to go further down as John was already working that area.

We went up 1 island and fished some since the fog was still thick.  Here, we scored.



The next one was nicer at 14.5"!



The fun thing about this fish is that he shot up straight out of the water as I was getting ready to net it. I was able to catch it while in the air. We laughed like crazy...

I finally got my skunk off.



Yes. it was a bit chilly (62dF). Water temps were 77-78dF down river.

It's actually good to see the small guys. Have not caught many of these runts. We need them so they can grow up to be beasts!

Once the fog lifted, we went up river.

I scored a 14"er.



Water temps were 2dF cooler up here.  We each caught some other small ones but the bites were few and far between.

When we 1st put in, George mentioned that it was good that we had clouds covering up the full moon. Oops...it was the sun. But...he was right, full moon in in 2 days so that is always a factor. But we fish when we fish.

We tried many fishy areas but things were slowing down.

As we were doing a drift, I mentioned to George that the area was where Bev caught his nice 18.25"er the other day. All of the sudden, after jerking the Coppertreuse, I get slammed and it's game on. George saw the fish and quickly reeled his line in to get the net. And expert net job landed what I think is the same exact fish that Bev caught.

The fish was slightly over 18.25" but we could not make it go to the 1/2". Just like Bev's fish!



Just after this, George managed to do an impossible thing!



That's what our fish are keying on!

We fished some more including some new water but only got some little bites. Finally, hunger took over and we took off for the ramp.

So we get the boat up and chatted with John for a bit since he had just taken out.

Our lunch target was Greek Unique. Great place run by two New Yorkers. We get there and they are closed for 3 days. Hope everything is OK.

So...to target #2 we go. Cubasi Bistro.

Yes, lunch was unbelievable. George had Cuban tamales w/ pork.



He could only eat 1/2.

I had a Media Noche (same as a Cuban sammie but with a sweeter bread).
