5-9-19 Beech and Scavenger Tip

After spending the winter working at the neighborhood Orvis store, I've had a lot of bug throwing on the brain.  Changed things up today and indulged my other fishing passion of winging crankbaits around.  Went out just before noon on the dam on Beech and fan-casted from a few different locations.

Got a surface blow up that I missed, but about twenty minutes later hooked a largemouth in front of the water drainage structure.  Around 10-11" long, probably a male based on body shape for this time of year.  No picture, I felt sorry for him as I foul hooked him in the middle of the head and scratched him up, so I wanted to get him back in the water ASAP.  1/4oz. Rapala square bill shad rap in purple did the trick.

Also, you may, if it drifts back to shore, find my custom painted bluegill crankbait.  It's chunky, probably 3/4 oz, and as best as I can guess the split ring slipped off the loop knot I tied.  Please give it a good home if you find it.

Re: 5-9-19 Beech and Scavenger Tip

Yesterday was a nice day to go fishing! Catching a fish is the cherry on top.

Together we'll fight the long defeat.
