4-17-19, "O"

Bob and I met up at the ramp at 7:05a and we were throwing lines by 7:30a.

He wanted to stop by the tires but I knew there were at least 4 other boats (Wayne Young, Don Pirro, John Durbin and Bill Pearl) that were coming so we headed up above the footbridge and staked our area. Great move Capt.!!!

I got up on Bob 4-0 and was starting to talk smack.  cool

Then, I got a huge tangle mess and before I could look up, it was 10-5....Bob!

And he stayed hot while I caught one here and there. His two biggest were 18.25" and 18.75"!  Beasts!!

Bill was catching a bunch of catfish...as did Colton!

Colton got his 1st shad (of many)...

...and then proceeded to school us by catching 3 of them on a jerk bait of all things!

Back to our fishing....and a double (both 17+)!

Bob and I got 78 today, from 7:30a until a little before 1p. Only problem was that only 21 of those were mine. He had the HOT hand! But we caught only a 1/2 dozen or so during the last 2 hours (low tide). 95% of them came from one general area....

And....green/chartreuse was the ticket today!

Plus, Bob caught a Quillback (The quillback is a type of freshwater fish of the sucker family. It is deeper-bodied than most suckers, leading to a carplike appearance.).

After stowing the boat, we had a nice lunch at the new Brickmakers Cafe.

You guys rocked it!  I got on the water about 8:00am and stayed further back. Big mistake and I only managed 2 fish in the boat.  Great job finding and staying on them!

Great report! I was hoping to get out for some shad fishing, but I'm deep into our Q1 financial close, and this weekend will be a bust between the weather and Easter sunday. sad

So much fish! Very cool to see a quillback too!

Nice report! I didn't even know there were quillback in the Potomac.

Can't wait for tomorrow's downpours to muddy everything up again. Ugh.
