Looking for a nice place for a hike that's kid (9-12) friendly...say anywhere that's 45-60 minutes from Purcellville.
A cool food place nearby is a must!
Any ideas?

Brunswick or Point of Rocks path along the river. To avoid the mud, I walk at Algonkian. Morvern Park in Leesburg is really nice and you can walk up the mountain.

Thanks...trying to avoid mud. Morvern Park is a good lead, thanks.
Heard about Bear's Den from Big D.

Hardy har har! We ain't afraid of a little mud...just don't want all muddy conditions. BTW, Ashburn Village is totally connected by trails. This is where I do my 4-5 mile walks.

The Appalachian Trail crosses Route 7 just after Weather Mountain (west of Bluemont).

Just looked at the Bear's Den trail and it runs right on the Ap Trail. Thanks!

I'm a fan of Maryland Heights. https://www.nps.gov/hafe/planyourvisit/hikes.htm
I did that with my dad around that age. Great view of Harper's Ferry.

Thanks for the MD Heights lead...
