You mean you don't have any in your car at all times??? Your SUV certainly has the space for it tongue

Sad indeed...new prediction is 20+'!

Bill, the guy I fished with on the 'doah last week, went to the Susky with a guide yesterday. They had an "OK day". Thirty six smallies and a few in the 19"+ range!

Re: Well, what now?

So my question is what does this year of high water and extreme flows mean to the smallmouth population?  Did it impact the spawn?  Do the fish tend to relocate downstream?  I typically fish the upper Potomac above Hancock, MD - only got 6 trips in this year, and finding the fish was difficult and sporadic.  I'd be interested to know if Fish&Game or other fishing experts have any theories or thoughts - if we return to normal weather in 2019, what are the likely fishing conditions?  Will we have to wait for an extended period for the fishing to rebound?

Inquiring minds want to know . . .

Re: Well, what now?

I'm not sure what the experts are saying buy we found willing fish after each flood event...and we had many (floods)! After the 1st big one in the spring, I was worried. They can't go too far downstream or they will end up in DC waters (as some have).

But what I personally found is that these guys know how to hide in the eddies...no matter how small.

I know this, I ain't waiting for anyone to tell me whether or not the population was affected. I will go and find out for myself...
