Well, what now?

This is ugly!

Most likely will ruin the spawn.

Gonna be a while before we get out there again.....

This sucks. I was gonna fish the tidal portion this weekend. Guess I have to pick a lake instead.

You beat me to it Ernie.  It will be at least a week to two to come down.  Not good for the spawn either...

With enough gas, there's always a floatable river available

Re: Well, what now?

Now the prediction is 19.8' at POR and 10.6' at LF. Not good at all!

I talked to a guide on Tuesday and like John said above, this will wipe away most of the spawn.

Re: Well, what now?

To my knowledge, all of the snakehead talk above Great Falls is pure BS. No actual record of events. But, people do transport them.....like the one in the article but that one was dead.

A 15 lb snakehead is a monster...record around here is 17-18lbs.

Couple years ago I read an article in the local paper that showed pix of the RR @ Brunswick and the guy w/ the fish

Like I said, reported.  Didn't see it in person, but with all the fake news around now a days, I believe you

Hmmmm, nope....

LOL

Re: Well, what now?

Looks like POR will settle at 24' before receding, 1' from major flood.

We should have a contest to see when it will be back at 5'.....

Re: Well, what now?

Interesting...I was looking a some river levels out west a bit and they crest tomorrow but their predictions say back to normal in a few days.

I saw a video of Great Falls and she was raging. As well, I was told that this is the most water since sometime in mid 90's.

All we can do is hope and let gravity do some work.

I work at Riverbend. We are expecting water very close to or even in the visitor center by saturday.
Needless to say, the ramp is closed.

Re: Well, what now?

Drove the river on the MD Side to work today and it was an easy 4 feet higher than an extreme high tide. Just the tops of the stacked roadway in the spoils were showing. Maybe a foot of them. The break wall on the outside of the spoils are out of site. The Ferris wheel pier at National Harbor had one foot of free area under the pier. Two creams in your coffee.

Re: Well, what now?

Where will all of the striper, shad, herring and white perch eggs end up? High price to pay for some green grass, the whole spawn is probably a washout.
