Had a chance to get out for a couple hours before the kids' soccer games this morning...still waiting for my DNR boat numbers and MD trailer tag before I can take out the Fishing Machine.
Walked along the path to the right of the boathouse and on the third stop, picked up 2 in the same general area. First one was heavy, not long but heavy so I'm guessing it was a female with eggs. Second one was a very small dink. Both caught on a Keitech green pumpkin 4.3", on a new hook I just picked up, Trokar Swim Blade. I really like this swim bait hook, the gap is large, like the Owner Beasts, and the blade turns at slow speeds very nicely. Both fish were still a little cold, no signs of bluegill yet either.
There's a very shallow area to the east side of the pond, lots of carp activity, saw 4-5 jumps and 2 huge monster shadows moving the flat. I might go after them one day.

Nice report! I haven't been to that lake since I was a kid.
Go after the carp! They're a lot of fun! And if they're common carp they should be easier to catch that the grass carp we have here in the Ashburn lakes.
