New striper regs

Looks like the ASMFC has passed Maryland’s proposal to mandate circle hooks (for non artificial bait) and reduce the size limit to 19” (only one over 28") from May 16th- Dec 15th 2018 for striped bass. Have not yet heard what PRFC (Potomac River) will do but likely the same with season closing Dec. 31.

Re: New striper regs

It is times like these with striped wiskerless catfish being such a big resource for the state of MD and DC that I did not have to depend on those stocks for my trips. But 19 inch really makes no change to mortality of those smaller fish. And we may keep a few in the fall then.

Re: New striper regs

Sounds fine to me. I only use circles for bait striper fishing anyway.
