7-19-17, Severn River

John and I were on the water at Spa Creek by 7a.

Note to self- check steepness of ramp before unhitching boat. I took a nice ride in to the water, no damage, just some water in the boat.

Today was fly only day, it would be feast or famine. We had a feast, or I should say, John's mom will!

And today was the maiden salt voyage for the sled. I was more than pleased as to how it handled the Severn washing machine!

We quickly took the skunk off at the towers!

Including this 10.5 incher (I know, he moved when I snapped the shot).

We had 4-5 over 10" and 2 at 11.5"!

The key today was a 5-6' leader, a clouser and low and slow!

John and I lost count after a dozen fish....

...but 50 would be a big understatement.

I made a move to Martin's pond but it was a little slow in there.

But we did get one of the biggies there...11.5"

and John got a shelllcraker and a nice channel cat!

We ate lunch at noon but we were done. Not quite as hot as yesterday as we had a little breeze for most of the day.

On the way back, we stopped at the condo and each picked up a fish and put down our rods.

Time to go fishin' again!
