10-11-15, West Palm Beach FL

I just had to do it since my mom insisted as she was out of fresh caugh fish!

This time, I took my Marine nephew, Shelby, who was also in town.

We had a blast!!

As always, whenever I fish with Seahorse Fishing Adventures, I dedicate the trip to my late friend Mike Schulte.

Capt. Lee now takes off on the weekends and the boat was run by Capt. Sparky who has been mating for Lee for many years. Our mate was Peter.

We boarded with another couple and a group of 3 men and one of their sons, an excelled Pop Warner football player.

We exchanged pleasantries and tried to get all the names straight. After a little chatter, one of the guys, Dave, asked me if he could talk to me in private. We went to the cabin and he advised me that he had just lost his son, Bailey, in a tragic car accident. He told me he didn't know why he wanted to tell me but I was glad he did and asked him how he wanted this trip to go. I said we can dedicate the trip in Bailey's honor. He liked that and said he wanted everyone to have a great time and catch a lot of fish so we shook hands and went back out to do so.

I did let Sparky and Peter know of the situation and we started cranking them up.

And did we ever!

Mutton snapper
Yellow tail snapper
Grunts
Porgies
Rainbow runners
Banded rudder fish
Remoras
Albies
Squirrel fish
Trigger fish
Blue runner
Shark

And......2 big hogs that we could not get in the boat. Maybe a Goliath grouper or a reef donkey but we will never know.  Howard (Dave's good friend) will be dreaming about that all night!

Wyatt, Bailey's brother, had a blast and was the one who caught the shark. All the tenacity you want from a middle linebacker!

And then there was Johnny. After finding out I was Cuban, he nicknamed me Fidel. He wad some fun and Howard had a blast funning on him.

We had a blast with these guys especially in light of the situation.

I hope we gave Dave a good memory in his son's honor.

In total, we kept 60+ fish and threw back 30 or more.

Pics to follow.....

Parents should never outlive their children.

Glad to hear the trip dedicated to the lost child was a sucess.

Rabirubia (yellow tail) is the most delicate...the best.

All other snappers are outstanding!
