Fishing break while on work trip 7-28

Away from home on a work trip and got 2 hrs of fishing in today.  Three little dinks and this 19 lb carp that took a bloodworm! big_smile

Outstanding....I wish we had them in our lakes instead of the grass carp.

Caught it on my medium action bass rod.  Good thing I had 20 lb braid on it.  Drag squealed during 5 big runs.  In the beginning.......wondered if I was going to turn it before I got spooled! It was all that rod could handle big_smile .

I know I would target them....if I knew how....hopefully with artificial bait and definitely with a fly.

Nice fish.

Potomac has a bunch of huge carp if you're into them.  I've snacked beasts with senko's & tubes.  Just look for long slack pools

That's a good looking fish George!

Can I assume the baits were in the 2-3" variety?

It would be awesome if there were common carp in the AV lakes. Kids would have pullage of a lifetime!!
