NHBA, June 21

Even though the forecast called for rain, Mike Luparello and I fished the tourney today.....

The sky was questionable when we started.

But all we got were a few sets of sprinkles!

Mike got on the board quickly and putv2-3 in the live well.

He rivals this guy with his skills!

By 10 AM, he had his limit and started culling.

He also caught a couple of snakies....

And me you ask? i was a spectator. I caught 1 10 incher earlier and finally at 12:45, I caught this one that went 2.75"!

I also caught a small snakehead.

Mike finished in the top 3rd while I dragged the bottom of the pool.

In reality, we should have gone left instead of right but we enjoyed our peace where we were fishing.

The tourney was won wan Tony Choi with 18+ lbs!

Here is his remarkable story....

Awesome!  It was a great day to get out.  I did not plan on it, but ended up having a good afternoon out of Algonkian with the wife.  She smoked me again!  Beautiful day!

I heard that John....glad you all had some pullage. I was pleased with how the day worked out, especially after all the rain forecasts.

Thks for the write up.  Brave of you to fish a weekend overlapping W/ an FLW Tx.  Though I think the 21st was the last day and the field is cut considerably by then.  I heard a few complaints the last week re crowding from wrapped boats that were assumed to be practicing for this FLW tx.

Re: NHBA, June 21

I heard that only the Top 10 were fishing Saturday but there were a few tourneys out of Leesylvania as well. We only had 9-10 boats in ours.

Mike and I tucked in to a creek and shared it with 2-3 other boats. Everyone played nice and a good time was had. There were many boats in all the major spots.

BTW, I think that Tony's catch was greater than what any of the pros did on Thu and Fri.

....the 2 up top are the smallest ones I have seen until the one that John caught last night.

Re: NHBA, June 21

This time I fried them....rolled them with peppered flour, then an egg wash, then rolled then in a fine cracker meal (Cuban style) and mixed in some seasonings. My sister was over and she approved.

Yum, sounds DE-licious.

That gaff was pretty cool, and it worked well. I may try and make one for myself one of these days.

Thanks for taking me out E, had a great time as always. Looking forward to the next one!
