In the Thick of It

I hit Burke Lake again this afternoon.  Last nights rains turned to blue bird skies and a light breeze.  I tried several cranks, spinnerbait and chatterbaits with no luck.  Decided to try and skip the tube to shaded shoreline cover but no bites there either.  Finally, skipped into the branches of a blowdown and got my first fish - 16"er.

I tried several other places and methods. but the tree pattern held up.  I ended up with 4 all at 16"  (that must have been a good spawn).  I only took pictures of 3.

Beautiful sunny afternoon.  Wind picked up and I decided to head in.
