New Proposed HOA Policy to be voted on by homeowners

About 3 dozen items in the document.  All covered by either one yes or no vote by homeowners.  I voted NO today on the ballot and it goes in the mail tomorrow.

Two troubling items buried in the document:

...."to prohibit the manufacture of weapons, explosives, ammunition or other flammable or hazardous substances within any lot."  This means no reloading bullets in your home.

....."Hunting to prohibit the curing or dressing of animals within the Association".  This means no skinning deer in your garage or hanging meat in your basement fridge to age.

Why? and WTF?

Meeting on May 7.

Some of this stuff needs to be taken out....need review line by line.

The all or nothing vote is a bit suspect.

Seems like they are trying to push the heritage out of Ashburn. That is one thing I appreciate about Powhatan down here. Traditions of farming, hunting, and fishing are preserved. We welcome new homeowners!

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Interestingly, while on my bike ride yesterday, I ran into a family that was just coming back form doing some rifle shooting. I stopped and urged them to take a look at the new regs as it could affect them. Sadly, most folks have no clue what is about to transpire.

Why would they care if I cure my own bacon (pig is an animal right?) This is crazy.
I will try to go to the meeting
