Severn River, 8-17-12

Thai Tran and Tyler Folts joined me for a day of perchin' on the Severn River.

Unbeknown to me, Thai had never caught a salty WP!
We put in at Spa Creek as the sun was just coming up....

....and in no time, the skunk was off the boat and Thai gets his 1st salty perch!

The condos always produce....

I caught the next fish and it was a puppy drum!

We then moved on to the Naval Academy wall and picked off a few but they had no size to them so we headed out to the radio towers. Here, we caught some nice ones.....

...one for the leader board fro the SRRKC tourney (an extra 1/4"!)

And including a decent striper!

Since it was kinda nice out, we decided to hit the bay and look for birds which we found immediately. We were on a huge school of stripers and proceeded to hammer them, often 3 at a time. My screen was lit up....I wish I had taken a picture! But...they were little guys.

I am sure there were some blues in the mix!

Then we headed to the western shore of Kent island to fish the windmill. Lots of fish home...all small.

Back to the Severn and to some honey holes. Thai and Tyler kept catching!

We put 20 fat perch in the cooler...a nice meal for the Tram family indeed!

As it was getting late, we tried some new water but it was dead. But just as we started to head elsewhere, we went around the corner and caught a few more and 2 more species!

Now we were done.....another great day out there with two very good fishermen....

As we headed back up to the launch, we saw one of the mega yachts with his sidekick...

That's 100 grand in just motors!

Here is our loot....
