Apologies for posting a nearly two month old fishing story. This was my last trip of the year worth discussing.
I waded into my usual spot near Tom's Brook. The North Fork was typical late fall, low and not flowing that fast. I caught a pair of chubs on black Gulp hellgrammites and a pair of dink smallmouth on black Case Magic Sticks, blind casting into riffles.
I then went on to my favorite spot on this stretch of river, a big pool just below the remains of a small dam tucked around an island. Throwing a texas-rigged olive speckled tube, I got into a nibbling duel with a fish. Eventually, I caught him/her:
I know the green bass are in the 'doah, but I've got a weird knack for catching them there. It was a great fight and I happily released the bass to return to the river. My guess is about three pounds and 19". For relative scale you can see my Lippa tool on the fish's mouth.
