Lake Frederick 9/18/2011

I went back to Lake Frederick this past Sunday.  As you'd expect the water was higher than usual for this time of year, though still fairly clear.

I was out on the water by 7:45AM and went up the East arm of the lake.  I got some disinterested follows to surface plugs and crankbaits.  I switched to a rotation of soft plastics.  The Strike King Zero stickbait was working that day and I caught a pair of largemouth at 1.5 and 2.5 lbs.  Both were on a steep slope in around 6-7ft. of water with a few fallen trees nearby.  My buddy Scott was fishing with me and caught a 2.5-3.0 lbs. LMB on the Zero stickbait as well.  Presentation was weightless Texas rig and wacky rig.  We were off the water by noon.

If you ever can try and get to the water and hour or two before dark since its a 24hr lake, it s pretty cool there at night!  Glad you caught some fish..
