Beaverdam 9/18

Got out around 5:45am with my brother.  He hooked up with a nice 2.5-3lb LMB early on and a perch using a diving crayfish.  I got skunked on the fly rod .... tried mostly top water patterns w/ a wooly bugger here and there .... got nada.

Which part of the reservoir did you fish?

Re: Beaverdam 9/18

I'm not too familiar w/ Beaverdam ... second time fishing it.  We launched at Mt Hope and fished down the left bank early (up to the cove) then crossed and fished the cove on the other side.  Fish was landed in the first spot we fished.  Any advice you have would be great.  I live in Broadlands and just got my kayak so I'm sure I'll be fishing there quite a often.

There is a big shallow flat on the right down a couple hundred yards after you leave the Mt. Hope cove.  Fish will move up into there in the fall as water temps drop.  You will be able to see a long old "rock fence" just under the water that goes out into the lake.  Bass love that structure big_smile .
