Cedar Spawn - Pavilion Spawn - 04/26/11

I hit Cedar and Pavilion yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see beds lined up near the shoreline. Unfortunately, they were all populated by bass 12in and under which further reinforces the need to whittle down the small bass population.

While at Cedar, I also tossed the fly rod, despite the wind, and caught a number of small bass and BG on a streamer and floater. Getting the topwater action definitely was more fun, but either way, always a fun fight on light tackle. Though, I am still waiting for a 5lb class bass to come up and nail one of my hooked BGs.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Nice.  Bigger females will bed a little deeper as a general rule (3-4' deep), but I've seen some in 1-2 feet, near to deep water over the years.
