Got an unexpected day off.
Practiced Dock-Shooting for crappie and white perch in 44F water. Moved to warmer water (54-55F) in 45-50' of water caught White Perch that were chasing baitfish. Hooked two good large mouth bass at 3+ pound, but landed only one. I kept 7 white perch at 9-10” out of 12 white perch.
Here is my fishing log:

That is crazy....trolling deep divers for WP! Outstanding!
Those are some nice fat perch....

I considered WP as striped bass in the freshwater. I think WP have the same charteristics as striped bass have. I have seen schools of WP chasing shad (2"-4") in the lakes often (Bomber is a good choice when it happened.)

Looks like a great trip! I saw your lake Anna report from last year targeting striper there, looks like you know that lake pretty well! Great trip report as usual. I'm in the process of making a mount for my camera so that I can try to make some trip reports like this!

Redfish,
Please do. It's a lot of fun. But will loose a good number of fish while preparing/operating the camera.

Redfish,
I am fishing on Saturday in Lake Anna. Are you interested in fishing in the warm side of the lake. I have access to a private community ramp.
Let me know.. Air temp will be 26-32F

Yes!!! I'll give you a call after work today! Gonna be cold but beats being inside any day. We have a challenge to catch a fish every month going on the mkf site. I got mine from shore but I think it would be better to do it from the kayak.
What kinds of lures should I bring? I am not a skilled largemouth guy, or will we be targeting stripers?

I have 5 minutes to use the internet. I will get back to you with more details
I think the warm side doe not hold keeper stripers. But it will be warmer because the water is 45-80F. Target fish are WP and LM. you will catch LM and WP just put one line out and paddle toward the boat ramp to the Dike 2 an dike 1. My boss is calling. got to go

Joe & Michael- I will honk the horn as I go by Exit 118......you guys are nuts (in a good way).
Catch a bunch and we look forward to the report!
BTW, 1/2 oz to 1 oz Hopkins style spoons (toothache) will get both species as well.....

Thanks Ernie! I have some small crappie jigs, a couple small cranks, senkos and flukes, and then striper stuff including Hopkins and kastmasters... We'll see how it goes!

Trip is off due to an unforeseen work issue. Anyone else fishing this weekend? Or can point me in the right direction for fishing Lake Anna? I'd like to try to jig some stripers or whatever will bite at this point...
