Beaverdam 11/11

I love the occasional mid-week day off.   I got to the reservoir around 9:15am and stayed until about 3:15.   Before I launched I made a couple test casts to see how the rod would handle the Bomber A.  On the second cast I hooked this smallie.  Looks more like it got snagged. ???

I then headed to the right fairly close to shore.  Once I got around the corner something gently took up the fire tiger Bomber A.  It wasn't much of a fight.  The 10" smallies I caught this year fought 10 times harder.   16" though.

Then a whole lot of time passed and I paddled all over the place.  Someone had been fishing the sharp drop off in the middle.  Once he had cleared out I decided to give it a shot.  I had been trying various things like a glass shad rap, tube, and senko, but I was still sticking with a 4-6ft diving Bomber A on one rod.  I paddled to the north end of the ledge so the wind would blow me south along it.  On the first pass just a few feet before pulling the Bomber A out of the water, this 11" crappie attacked it.  It came home for dinner.  The last time catching a crappie here was last November, also with a fire tiger Bomber A.

I'd call it a good day for Beaverdam.  It's definitely tougher fishing for me there during the cooler months, but the fire tiger Bomber A has been the go-to lure for November.
