The Hunt for the Pavilion Pig Continues............

While many of you were on BDR this morning, I had Pavilion all to myself this morning.  Not another fisherman on the lake.  It has become very obvious that the Pavilion Challenge 2 years ago has had big impact on the quality of Pavilion bass.  I've caught several 2-3+ pounders this year as well as buckshot's numerous 2 pounders.

Today's big fish was 2-15..........sorry no pic.  The fish are relating to structure on deep dropoffs.  Not any sizable fish were seen shallow.  The "pig" remains elusive, but I will keep trying.  For those new to the Forum............it's the biggest bass in all of the lakes and was almost landed about a year and a half ago.

Found a ladies purse in the weeds.  Looked as if it had been stolen and ransacked.  Pulled it out and it had ID but no money left.  Asked two lady walkers to take it up he the Pavilion front desk and turn it in.  I wasn't about to walk around the lake with a ladies purse. lol

Re: The Hunt for the Pavilion Pig Continues............

The pavilion has been great for me these past 2 weeks. almost all my fish have been in the 2 coves ans straight back.  the bigger ones seemed to be deeper and as normal the small ones are just cruising around. i took my 6 year old neighbor this morning (jackson who fished the tournament as well) didnt have luck on his yum money hounds or frogs but did get i few hits on a wacky rig. i let 2 dinks get of at the bank on a zoom mag finesse and a zoom lizard. his dad landed one on a half of a trick worm. all this happened at beech. went to alder for a few and only saw a beaver.

Hit Pavilion gain this morning and it was brutally hot by 10am.  Ended up with 3 decent fish with the biggest just short of 2 lbs.

Re: The Hunt for the Pavilion Pig Continues............

Continued the hunt for the Pavilion pig today after work.  Went for quality instead of quantity with a bigger bait.  Didn't get the big one, but did catch 8 nice fish all between 1 and 2 1/2 lbs.  Three biggest fish:

Re: The Hunt for the Pavilion Pig Continues............

i appreciate these posts curly.

i am going to stay w/ this place, force myself to go deep.

i worked it again today, and had the usual assortment of cookie cutter 10" bass.

i tried cranking the drops, as well senko and wacky.

I havnt found the magic deep cover yet.

there are a lot of rocks on the bottom of pavilion

i find them w/ my trolling motor when i get too shallow, and can feel my anchor bouncing off of them when it drag it along.

i might even try throwing some carolina rigs. i'm gonna find me some of them rock piles.

whats up w/ the snap swivel on the JP?

My eyes are getting older and it's getting tougher to tie knots without reading glasses.  The swivel makes switching different jigs easier, but I don't use one on plastics.

I know the feeling. I have always been blessed w/ good eyesight.  The last few years, I struggle to focus close-up

Yeah, its tail was in bad shape too.  That big underbite helped it scoop up my jig off the bottom big_smile .

Went this morning.  The front passing through pretty much shut them down.  Caught only 3...........one was almost 2 lbs.
