5-6-08 DC Rockfish report + PIC

Bob Morgan (Capt. C-Hawk) fished with me out of my boat today.  I knew it was going to be a tough day when I saw the water color at Gravely Point launch.......  tongue  Could not see the bottom under the pilings.  We were fishing by 6AM up around Fletchers.  The river was busting through and still muddy.  Also plenty of crap coming down the river still.  We tried jigging for about 30-45 minutes for either herring or stripers............NADA.  Too fast and too muddy.  Worked our way down to the WC and trolled that for about 90 minutes.  One dinky perch, one schoolie rockfish, and this 2.5 pound largemouth that Bob "waterskied" to the boat.

Trolled spoonbills and the "PIMP" was the color of choice (2 out of 3 fish).
At least we did not get skunked!
