This was our 1st event at Ft. Belvoir...
...and we got a nice crowd to attend.
Donuts and coffee in the morning and pizza for lunch.
The fishing was slow but a couple were caught.
These fish will be someone's dinner tonight!
Everyone had a great time and wanted us back.
Once of the cool things that happened is that we met a couple of retired fellas (Army and Air Force) there and they helped out a bunch. Now, they are our official guides for future events!
The camaraderie was incredible! What great people!!!!

Great job putting this together and getting the veterans and their kids out for the day to fish

So cool! That picture with the kid holding the catfish in one hand and the donut in the other is classic. Congratulations and great work, Ernie!

In the last pic, the gent on the left (Roland, one of our guides) earned a Bronze Star while serving. Incredible guy. The gent with the flag T-shirt, Elton, also a retired Army vet was one of our guides. George and Joseph (the two white dudes) flew up from FL to do the event and met the two guides prior. They are now in our group.
The other gent (James) in the pic is a retired veteran that leads an outreach program at Ft. Belvoir. We worked with him to put this event on the map.
In the 2nd to last pic, the lady in the blue stripped shirt works for the USO.
