Today it was Bev's turn to shad fish!

It was a little chilly (for me) at the start but the sun came through and we were able to take outer layers off.

When we got to the ramp, we noticed that Bob was already there.

We said hi to him on the water and he told us he had caught a few but that they were finicky mad!

So we went up top to see what was happening.

Well, not much except that I got my skunk off!

I do need to say that on Bev's 1st cast, he conked the back of his head with a dart. Ouch! After some quick 1st aid, we were back at it. But there was very little love given to us up top so we dropped down.

Here, Bev got his skunk off.

We checked in with Bob once in a while and we (me) were actually ahead of him at one point.  That would change at the end.

The fish were hard to catch today but we still had fun. While Bev didn't catch many shad today, he made up for it with these 2 guys!

That beautiful carp hit a shad on a light rod. Bev played it perfectly and we were able to land it. That got hs heart pumping!!

I got a yellow perch as well.

I was getting a bit anxious towards the end as I was overbooked on some family stuff and it was interfering with my fishing so I started to drift out of there. Bob called me back up but I said "nah"!  I distinctly remember being up 22 to 19 or so on him and he ended up with 35 or so! He hammered them in the last 30 minutes! We ended up with 29.

No matter how slow the fishing might be, there is always redemption after we put the boats away...

Good to see there are still some out there.  That carp and those Yellow Perch were cool.  I might get out there Wednesday.  I have some appointments this week.

And what a great battle Bev had with the Light rod. It was fun to watch!
