I gave Bob 5 choices on where to fish today. He narrowed it down to two of them (perch being one of them). But after the last perch trip...I wanted another shot so to Sandy Point we went.
The day started spectacular and stayed that way until we finished. A most beautiful day! I think we were fishing before 8:30a.
And for now, I took the skunk off and had the lead!
About 15 minutes later, Bob got his skunk off. His 1st white perch of the year!
It's September 21! What a weird year...
Then he gets a small stripie...
And then follows it up with a gamer!
We did not catch many perch in one of our favorite holes. So we moved.
The next couple of places were nothing but frustration so we went to the place Paul Naj found on google maps a couple of years back. Here, we scored some.
This one was 11"!
And then the 1st of 10+ flounder we caught!
The lizards showed up as well...
...I think I caught 3-4 of them.
Cool flounder shot!
They were not big but is there hope for a future flounder fishery???
Bob also caught an 11.25" perch but apparently, he went in the cooler before I could get a shot.
While were were not totally satisfied in our results, Bob did manage to keep 5 fish over 10". A good breakfast will be had.
We are still puzzled by the lack of perch. We did manage between 2-3 dozen but it was tough grinding. When we slowed the bait down, the flounder would hit. Most were misses except the 10 we caught.
We were off the water shortly after 1p since we had only caught 2-3 fish in the last hour.
Another eventful 2 hour ride home. As I was playing with Waze, I noticed one of the routes had a high toll. The toll for taking Rt. 66 inside the beltway was $200.75! Yep...not a typo!

The day was beautiful indeed and being on the water fishing I'm sure was amazing regardless of the numbers. I like that even the lizard fish looks pretty big! Another multi species day for you guys.
That toll is insane....of course an error. So much for variable pricing. lol

Good to see some nice fish were caught. Bob is starting to look like Captain Ahab! Nice looking flounder!

Very encouraging to see all those young flounder! Maybe I'll throw some smaller baits in the shallows this weekend. Been wanting to tag more of them.

We talked about that especially with Puerto Rico getting pounded.

That was just weird. When I saw it while riding down the road, I had to do a double take.

Never grow up
Looks a heck of allot better than the beginning of summer
Is the red tide gone?

Well, they now call it a brown tide since the algae is brownish color. We had some murky water at times but found some good water where most of the flounder were.

The water in CA was tropical colored. I've never seen it so blue/green and clean. CA's also taking care of the bays with weekly clean up from the boaters.
