John and I met up at 6:30a. The skies were looking a bit ominous but it looked like the rain was gonna miss up!

Wrong!

Still, John got the skunk off...

I couldn't take any more of the soaking rain so after getting that skunk off just after 7a, we headed in and got in my SUV to dry off. We waited the rain out for over an hour and then headed back out. The top water bite was not there this morning for John (WP). I did not throw TW.

I got to take my skunk off around 8:45a.

We caught a few more and then headed up river a bit. The original plan was to go way up river but the rain delay caused us to stay more local as we were going to do lunch at Greek Unique later.

We had caught 3-4 fish when John did this.

Once up river, it got windy and John got all exited about throwing a spinner bait. Good plan, he caught 4 fish on it with the biggest at a fat 17"!

Hungry smallie eats bid ole bait!

While the fishing was not hot and heavy, John ended with 9 fish and I had 5. Not too shabby for a rain shortened game.

This is the last cast fish on a grub!

We took out just after 1p and headed over to eat. Yes, it was good!

Great time as always, Ernie!  We got wet, dried out in your limo and then caught fish!  I was happy that my spinnerbait theory worked.  Too bad the wind got too much for it to last long.  That chicken souvlaki was the bomb.  Christian ate my leftovers, and we will be going there soon!

Always wishin' I was fishin'

Looks like the lucky banana did the trick!

Are you going to be fishing the White Perch Open this weekend?

I saw the winning perch was 13.25". I would have liked to see that one in person! I don't think I've ever caught a 12".

Wow! Would like to find out if it was caught deep or in the shallows.
