We were again asked to hold a "Learn to fish" day (2nd year now) for Ashburn Village residents and just like last year, the fishing slots filled up shortly after the email blast went out.
Last year, we limited to 12 people per 2 hour session, this year we went with 18 people per session. Most were kids but we had a sprinkling adults. Everyone had a blast and there were many 1st fish caught and many that held or touched their 1st fish. It doesn't get any better than that!
This event would not happen without the partnership with "Fish and Explore", owned and operated by John Lipetz.
The four of us (John, Matt, Quinn and Ernie) held the fort down and we got busy as the fish catching was very good. A little catfish chum held the fish close so the kids could catch them.
Here are some pics...lots of smiles!
Top catcher in the 1st two hour session was 13 fish. Pretty steady catching!
Top catcher in the 2nd two hour session was 8 fish.
We caught 1 bass, 1 turtle, 3 crappie and a ton of BG's!
