Lower Potomac 12/13/18

I saw the forecast and decided to get out for a solo outing to chase LM in the DC area.  I got on the water by 8am.  I caught one fairly quickly that picked up a swim bait on a SWM jig.  Looks like it had escaped some predator bird.

There were two other guys out in decked out kayaks.  I did not see them catch anything.  The fishing was slow and I managed just one more LM about the same size on one of Hookup's jigs with a erie darter style chunk.

Both fish were about 14-15".  The bite shut down and I saw some surface activity, so I got near and started casting a Rapala DT Thug.  It felt like I was hitting fish, so I kept casting and finally snagged a big Gizzard shad.  The weather was nice, but the fishing was tough.  I missed a couple bites, but did not catch any more fish.  I got off the water by 3pm.
